We've got a different car now, it is a red Mitsubishi ASX.
Drove down to Perigean Beach for a run about in the rain. There were a couple of brave/foolish kitesurfers out.
Finding a brush turkey:
Stopping for some tea and cake at Peregian Beach. Evie helped me eat 'chocolate sin' while Isla helped Andrew finish off some strawberry cheesecake. We had a few bird visitors to our table. The photo is of a juvenile Pied Butcherbird. Isla and Evie went off to chase another Butcherbird in a tree with amazing roots.
We had a look at another patch of beach, where there was a rather disconcerting sign leading off into the bush:
Creature count: two brush-turkeys, some Pied Butcherbirds (they are called this because they wedge lizards and mice into forked branches to eat them), a Noisy Friarbird singing 'four o'clock' in our garden, a Noisy Miner bird and a little froggy who visited our garden last night. I think he/she is a Green-thighed frog after having a look at this website.
