Adventures in France part 1

Waiting to drive onto the ferry:

Watching the ferry refuelling:

Bye bye to Poole:

Bonjour to Cherbourg:

We had an adventure driving to our gite. The journey should have taken 3 and a half hours but took double that as our car broke! We eventually limped to our gite and had some dinner. The next day, we limped to the local village market:

We found a lovely beach with millions and billions of shells which Isla LOVED:

We found some crabs!

We had our lunch outside at our gite:

The next day was Monday and so we could get our car fixed. This was quite complicated but we managed with our amazing French linguistic skills. For a large part of the day, Isla's little bike was our only means of transport:

By the evening we had a replacement car and went on an adventure. We found a park, much to Isla's excitement:

The next day we had lunch in a lovely restaurant in Damgan. We ate huge gallettes filled with cheese and ham.

We played in the garden, went to collect our fixed car, and then went to the beach again to find more crabs and shells.

We visited the chateau de Suscinio, and searched for a monster from one of Isla's books, who lives in a castle:

  1. Glad to see you escaped the castle. It all looks lovely - we are envying you - but not the car problems...
