Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

After Christmas, Isla, Evie and I had some morning adventures running errands and then did lots of playing with the new toys. I dragged them out to the beach in the late afternoon for a lovely run on the sand.

Making ice cream sundaes. We got the idea from a book that Isla's friend Milly gave her.

A huge parcel arrived last week from the UK. It was from Isla and Evie's friends Daisy and Gussy and had lots of brilliant things in it. It was like Christmas again. Isla and Evie had lots of negotiating to decide which stickers each was allowed. They helped each other to start sewing Fantastic Mr Fox too.

I dragged them out again (they really protest about going to the beach) and they loved playing hopscotch on the sand, and looking for ghost crabs:

We had an arctic roll disguised as a chocolate yule log for New Year's day:

New Year's Day was pretty awesome! We spoke to all our families, Isla found her first wobbly tooth (and had it confirmed by a professional) and Evie rode a pedal bike by herself for the first time! All in all, pretty amazing.

Yesterday we had a trip to the Sea Life Centre. They had lots of new animals there, including a real live nautilus!

We visited Point Cartwright and the Mooloolaba fish market:

Rusty old Susan, and a fishing boat:
