Flowers, Playmobil and a weird caterpillar

Happy New Year!

I tried out a different camera yesterday to take some photos of plants and creatures in our garden, so I thought I'd show you them:

A Case Moth caterpillar that covers itself with twigs and carries them around as it eats leaves:

A squawky Magpie Lark. It is also called a Mudlark because they build their nests out of mud in trees.

A Golden Orb spider that was about as big as Evie's hand. Much to her dislike, it lived on our pool fence for a couple of weeks.

A Common Australian Crow butterfly on our neighbour's Duranta plant.

  1. Great shots - a justification for big camera still with the extra control & possibilities that are very difficult to build into a very slim mobile phone camera. Thanks for showing these. Funnily enough, Mudlark was the name we gave our dinghy as it sat on the mud between high tides!
