Ice creams and jumping

Hello!
At the beginning of last month there was a fair at school but unfortunately it was very rainy that afternoon! Evie and her friend D went on the tea cup ride together just as the heavens opened and their teacup quickly started to fill up with water. We went back later on after the rain had stopped and enjoyed the dodgems in the dark.

Although it's winter here, it is the best season for strawberries. We visited a strawberry farm and picked a couple of bowls full.

Isla was invested into cubs a few weeks ago. The rest of the pack welcomed her by barking at her! Her favourite activities so far have been lighting their own fires and a party with sock wrestling.

It was Sports Carnival at school a couple of weeks ago and it was a nice sunny day for it. Evie had fun activities and high and long jump as well as running races in the morning. Isla had tug-of-war, relay and high and long jump in the afternoon.

Isla has been learning to cook! After school she regularly comes and helps cook dinner. So far, she's helped with lasagne, pasta bake, chocolate tart and marble cake.

We had a slightly unusual time at the library recently. As well as choosing some books, we had a look at a collection of deceased birds!

We have a new floor!

Here are some more photos of things we've been doing recently:

A katydid. We found it one evening when Evie couldn't sleep. She is learning about living things at school so she wanted to take the katydid in to show her teacher.

We also cycled to the river these holidays. It took about half an hour and was the furthest that Evie and Isla have cycled. We cycled down the river to one of our favourite parks called Pirate Park. There are always people we know at this park, whenever we go there! This time, Isla found a friend from cubs there and Evie found someone from her school to talk to.

Today we went to Noosa Woods. It was nice to be near the water, with plenty of ships to look at. We wandered up Hastings Street, which is very popular here among tourists to the area. There are interesting shops there selling clothes, gifts and ice creams! At Happy Pops, Isla and Evie could make up their own ice creams. Isla chose milk chocolate ice cream with dark chocolate sauce and rainbow sprinkles. Evie chose marshmallows on her dark chocolate ice cream.
