Have you been eating lots of choccie? We've had a little bit in our house. The temperatures are a lot cooler here now (more like 26 degrees in the day, about 15 degrees at night) so the choccie hasn't been melting.
Isla woke up to an Easter Egg treasure hunt on Sunday morning, then she had Evie to help with some of the clues after a while. Chocolate eggs are much the same here, although there weren't many Cadbury's Cream Eggs in the shops.
Everyone had Good Friday (when the shops were shut) through to Easter Monday as holidays. We decided to do some day trips out: mainly to the beach as the weather was glorious. Bribie Island was a highlight, with stunning beaches, lagoons to paddle in and kangaroos on the inland track. It isn't too far from us and has a bridge for access. There were many shells on the beach and different sea birds to watch, such as gannets diving into the ocean. Bribie Island has some World War 2 fortifications on the beach, which looked a bit spooky. Some of them were disappearing into the sand.

Easter Sunday!
We had some relaxing days at Coolum beach. The surf was good and Andrew and I enjoyed bodyboarding and having a swim. There were many lifeguards on duty. They were kept on their toes by rips developing along the beach.
It's amazing what you can do with a toilet roll, some string, peanut butter and bird seed! The miner birds and butcher birds like Evie's bird feeders from playgroup and sometimes swing upside down on them.
Isla was back to school on Tuesday after the Easter holidays. She wasn't looking forward to going back. Unfortunately her class teacher was off sick on her first day back which was a bit unsettling, but they got through the day. Isla asked if we could go to the beach after school, which was great for her to look forward to. She has a new shovel to dig huge holes with:
Evie had her first swimming lesson with a new instructor, in the next level up called seahorses. She was pretty scared about the prospect but settled down as the lesson went on, thank goodness. The water at the pool was very warm and Evie was the instructor's only pupil so we were lucky. She learnt about floating on her front, and kicking on her back with a kickboard. Evie won some more chocolate as a prize in a colouring competition run by the swimming centre:
To help Isla get through her first week back at school, she was looking forward to a visit to 'The Big Boing' at the weekend. So, we went there today. Isla and I had already been there for a birthday party before Christmas, but it was Evie and Andrew's first time there. Evie was a bit nervous about going but when we got there and all had a brilliant jump about on all the trampolines, she loved it! She has spent the rest of the day telling us how she loves 'The Big Boing'! Isla learnt to jump onto the wall trampolines, and we all had fun shooting some hoops in the basketball trampoline room.
