Isla's First Wedding

Today was very exciting as we went to a wedding! The service didn't start until 1.30 so we had the whole morning to walk to the village for provisions, go to the park and then get ready. First of all though Isla checked out her fire engine whilst wearing a pink hat:

The wedding was in a lovely church. Isla sat on our knees for some of it, and enjoyed clapping along with everyone else.

It was a really hot, sunny day!

The reception was at a barn in the middle of the countryside, where there was a lot of grass to run about on!

Isla wanted to investigate a meadow......

 .....can you still spot her?!

The wedding venue was a prime location for Isla's favourite past time of tractor spotting as the neighbouring fields were being harvested.

There were lots of chestnut trees in the grounds.  Searching for conkers kept us occupied. Isla learnt to say conker today.

Isla was very lucky at the wedding breakfast as she had a goody bag with a chocolate lolly amongst other things.

Isla practiced blowing bubbles for us all to watch.

She had her favourite meal - roast chicken - for dinner.

Also in her goody bag was a sweetie watch.....which her daddy will eat when she's finished playing with it (I'm going to have the lolly!!!!)

We had fun playing peekaboo with the giant napkins

Colouring in also kept us busy whilst waiting for the speeches to start. Isla learnt to say 'purple' today whilst sorting her new crayons. This page of her colouring book is a particularly excellent one.

Delicious cup cakes were served for dessert.  All in all, it was a great day!

  1. Chocolate watches, cup cakes, chicken, crisps, hob-nob biscuits, chocolate lollies , sweet corn fritters and of course ham. What an appetite Isla has got - or is it Mum who is eating all this?
